The PurrOS overlay puts the essentials on screen while you drive, so you can adjust without leaving the car. If you want it on screen while you drive, run your game in windowed or borderless mode.
How do I open the overlay?
Click Open real-time overlay window on any pedal’s Input card. The overlay stays on top of the game and is not click-through.
What does the overlay show?
The overlay has a tab for each pedal, your Favorites curves, the response graph and the deadzone fields. The full view shows live traces and the graph. The mini view shows compact bars.
Which keyboard shortcuts does the overlay have?
The overlay shortcuts are optional and off by default. To turn them on, open Settings, then Keyboard shortcuts, and enable Enable global shortcuts.
- Toggle overlay: shows or hides the overlay. There is no default key: you assign your own.
- Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2 and Ctrl+3: switch the overlay between pedals.
- Start/stop calibration: opens the full-screen calibration window for the pedal shown in the overlay. There is no default key.
- Left and Right deadzone + and −: change the Bottom and Top deadzone of the pedal shown in the overlay. See Deadzones and maximum brake force in PurrOS.
How do I record my pedal inputs?
In the full overlay, go to Live output and click Record. Record becomes Stop, with a red pulsing dot, while it is recording. Click Stop to finish. Recording is not available in the mini overlay.
Record saves your pedal input as a CSV file in your DocumentsPurrOStelemetry folder. The file holds a timestamp, the elapsed time, and the raw and scaled value for each pedal, so you can review your inputs as telemetry.
How do I change the recording rate?
Open Settings, then Telemetry, then Sample rate. The default is 250 Hz, and you can choose 1, 10, 100, 250 or 500 Hz. The sample rate affects recordings only.
Do the changes I make in the overlay reach the pedals?
Changes to curves, Favorites and deadzones made in the overlay reach the pedals when you click Send to device. Two things send straight away: the deadzone keyboard shortcuts, and Save in the full-screen calibration window. See Send to device: what the button shows and what greyed out means.
