Damper knob / body is oily

Some dampers arrive slightly oily from the factory (they ship in sealed bags from the supplier) — it does not mean a leak. Procedure from support: pull the knob off (by hand or with a plastic tool between base and knob — never a metal pry, it damages plastic), wipe the damper clean and dry, leave the knob off, and drive for a few days. Trace re-appearance is fine; significant build-up = contact support, replacement under warranty. Verify function by sweeping the knob 0→9 and feeling the resistance change.
